The critical difference is vehicle context. A passenger car can use roads that may be inappropriate for a tall, heavy or very long RV. RV LIFE’s routing workflow is built to use RV information when planning a route, while Google Maps is primarily optimized for general consumer navigation.
That does not make Google Maps unsafe in every RV situation. It means the driver must supply more of the RV-specific judgment personally.
Trip Wizard combines route and campground planning

Plan the RV movement with a tool that knows the rig, verify unusual restrictions and campground approach instructions, then use general maps for local context and errands. Two maps are not redundant when they are answering different questions.
