Is an RV Wi-Fi Booster Worth It?
A Wi-Fi booster can improve the connection between your RV and a campground access point, but it cannot fix an overloaded or slow campground internet connection.
Separate signal from internet speed
If your laptop sees one weak Wi-Fi bar outside the office but the network is fast when you stand nearby, extending that signal to the RV can help. If the network is slow even beside the access point, amplifying the connection will not create more bandwidth.
RV construction can block signal
Metal skin, insulation and low-E windows can reduce Wi-Fi performance inside a rig. An exterior antenna or bridge can move the receiving hardware outside that barrier and create a local network inside.
Compare against cellular first
If your cellular connection is already reliable and fast, a campground Wi-Fi booster may add complexity without solving an important problem. Treat campground Wi-Fi as one possible WAN source rather than something every RV must optimize.
