RV Dogbone Adapter Guide: 30A, 50A and 15A
An RV dogbone adapter changes connector compatibility. It does not magically give your RV the capacity of the larger outlet on the other side.

The source sets an upper limit
A 50-amp RV connected through an adapter to a 30-amp source cannot use its normal full capacity. The pedestal source and adapter configuration constrain what is available.
Household outlets require more restraint
A standard household connection can be useful for battery charging and light loads, but it is not equivalent to a campground RV service. High-draw appliances may exceed the circuit or create excessive voltage drop.
Protection still belongs in the chain
Using an adapter does not remove the need to think about surge and voltage protection. Plan the order of connections so the protective device sees the incoming campground power appropriately.
