A living database, not a fixed 38-row study
The original RVVerdicts fee index remains a fixed 38-row convenience sample across seven parks so existing citations stay stable. This explorer uses the larger living database, currently 108 price records across 23 park units, with state metadata and row-level source links.
Use the filters as a planning benchmark
The explorer is designed to answer practical questions quickly: which entries are below $30, how electric or full-hookup sites compare with non-hookup camping, or what the nightly range looks like within a particular state or park. Because every row links to its underlying NPS page, the database is auditable rather than a black-box price list.
Why campground service level matters
A single park can contain several very different products. A basic non-hookup campsite is not economically equivalent to an electric site or a concession-operated full-hookup RV park. Filtering by service level avoids treating every nightly fee as interchangeable and makes trip-budget comparisons more useful.
Why some rows are seasonal or temporarily closed
A posted fee can remain useful even when a campground is seasonal or temporarily closed. The status column flags known cases such as seasonal operation or a rehabilitation closure. A fee record therefore describes a published camping product, not guaranteed availability for a particular date.
Turn nightly price into trip economics
A campground fee becomes meaningful when multiplied across a route. After finding a realistic nightly benchmark, use the RV Trip Cost Calculator to combine campground nights with fuel, tolls and other travel expenses, or use the Campground Membership Break-Even Calculator to compare paid-night discounts.
