National Park RV Campground Price Database 2026
RVVerdicts expanded its original seven-park fee study into a 108-record living database covering 23 U.S. national-park units and 17 state/region labels. Every row records a campground or RV-eligible campsite type, nightly fee, service level, location label and National Park Service source URL.
per night across all 108 records.
pulled upward by higher-service concession RV sites.
from basic federal campsites to full-hookup RV park products.
Service level changes the price picture
Average across 86 basic/non-hookup price records.
Average across 12 electric or electric-plus-water records.
Average across 9 full-hookup price records in the database.
The purpose of the service split is not to claim a national average for every campsite. It shows why a single campground-price number can be misleading. A primitive or non-hookup federal site and a concession-operated full-hookup RV park solve different problems and often have materially different prices.

Methodology
The database is built from publicly posted National Park Service campground, fee, campground-specific and management pages. Each row represents a campsite product that an RV traveler could reasonably compare: a named campground, an RV-specific site class, a seasonal rate class or a clearly defined service tier. Group-only and hiker/biker-only products are excluded from the headline comparison.
Where the same campground has materially different products—such as non-electric versus electric, weekday versus weekend, or standard versus full hookup—the products are separate rows. That preserves the price actually attached to each purchase choice instead of averaging unlike products together. Duplicate park/campground/fee/service rows are removed automatically when source expansions overlap.
The database is a sourced comparison set, not a census of every RV campsite operated in every national park. Several parks have concession-operated campgrounds, seasonal closures, taxes, reservation fees or changing availability. A status note is included where a known closure or seasonal condition materially affects interpretation. Travelers should verify the live booking page before making a reservation.
How this differs from the original fee index
The original National Park RV Campground Fee Index intentionally remains a fixed 38-row sample so existing citations do not change underneath readers. This expanded database is the living research asset: it can grow with additional parks and rate updates while preserving the earlier study as a historical snapshot.
Use the data interactively
The Campground Fee Explorer filters the same database by state, park, service level, campground name and maximum nightly budget, with live median, mean and range calculations. Park rows with at least two price records link to their own data pages for more targeted comparisons. For trip-level budgeting, feed a realistic nightly benchmark into the RV Trip Cost Calculator.
